Around Hunt County – Wednesday, January 7, 2015

The two top stories in Greenville:

  • A fire has completely destroyed a residence at the corner of Vale and Avondale in Greenville.  All residents got out safely, though; and there were absolutely no injuries to speak of.  Praise the Lord! Pictures can be found at the Herald-Banner’s Facebook Page and Hunt-Rockwall County Scanner’s Page
  • Muzzy’s Alley was the site of a celebrity spotting – the TreeHouse Guys from DIY Network paid a visit to the local antique shop.  Gwen Snyder, owner of Savannah’s Meadow Tree House Bed and Breakfast, recruited the show’s team of experts to help with a construction project on the business’s property.  Photos from the visit can be found on Muzzy’s Alley’s Facebook Page.
  • Even though the ground is still dry – and the big ice storm isn’t until Friday – people still don’t know how to drive.  At the Hunt-Rockwall County Scanner’s Page, linked above, you can find a list of all accidents which occurred today.
  • Right now we’re going through a polar vortex.  Temperatures will go down into the teens tonight and won’t return to the 40’s until at least Sunday.

That’s all for now.  Keep it tuned here!
