What’s Going On in Hunt County – Saturday, January 17, 2015

Hey everyone!  How’s your weekend?

Please note that we have a moderate threat of fire danger, as posted by the Texas A&M Forestry Service, due to the ongoing drought and dry, windy conditions.  So, if you’re barbecuing, having a bonfire, or whatever else, PLEASE be careful.

The annual Martin Luther King, Jr., parade was held in Downtown Greenville today at 10:00 a.m., with Greenville High School Athletic Director and Football Coach Marvin Sedberry as this year’s Grand Marshall.  There are other observances, such as:

  • A memorial observance at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 1620 Joe Ramsey Boulevard, at 3:00 p.m. tomorrow.
  • Not to mention the Hunt County African American Leadership Conference’s annual Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., Awards Ceremony, 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 202 Champion Lane.  Jason Cunningham, the owner of Benson Brothers Towing Service, will emcee; and the event is free and open to the public.

That’s all for now!  Have a great weekend!
